Set in the heart of Chianti, the most pleasant and appealing area of Tuscany and immersed in an evocative landscape of oak woodlands, vineyards and olive groves Poggio d’Oro is the perfect retreat for those who want to explore and live the region and have a safe and relaxing base surrounded by calm and greenery along with spaciousness, intimacy and independance.

Hidden at the end of a road just 1,5 km away from the ancient village of S.Donato in Poggio (altitude 400 mt, a tiny medieval pearl dating back to the year 1000 and may be even earlier with castle, towers and churches all splendidly conserved) our estate was born out of the passion and desire to create and share a unique yet welcoming place. The complex consists of a group of Tuscan style villas divided into apartments beautifully and spaciously scattered on a hillside in a unique layout with one of the best views that the Tuscan countryside can offer, over the Chianti hills and the natural protected area of the river Pesa up to the far peaks of the central Apennines.

The site extends over an impressive surface of over 10.000 sq.m. of park set on different levels with swimming pool, tennis court and common areas. Pines, cypresses and oaks are not alone in the great combination of trees, plants and flowers that our stunning garden offers.
Very quiet and set into peace and nature, utterly relaxing and easy to reach just halfway between Firenze and Siena, ideal starting point to the most fascinating attractions, to the famous museums and to the picturesque settings of the region due to the excellent connections that makes possible fast arrivals and quick returns, or simply for hiking adventures and shopping, Poggio d’Oro epitomises the lure of the Tuscan retreat and offers an inviting and exclusive holiday of rich variety, as quiet or as active as one might wish.
